Instructions: Traditional CreativeRail
Before installation check with your office of the local building inspector. Local building codes and by-laws may apply to outdoor railings. The vertical height from the deck to the top of the railing as well as minimum spacing between balusters is frequently stipulated.

Step 1
Set newel posts to accommodate pre-drilled railing length.

Step 2
Center pre-drilled rail between newel posts and trim equal amounts from each end of top and bottom rails. |

Step 3
Attach bottom rail to newel post using rail-to-post hardware kit. Use 2x4 block under rail to get desired height from deck. |

Step 4
Use high quality caulking to fill all holes halfway in pre-drilled railing. The caulking prevents moisture from accumulating in railing holes. |

Step 5
Install top pre-drilled rail by aligning balusters with holes at one end and push down firmly as you travel down the length of the rail until all balusters are securely placed in the holes. Ensure rail is level. Fasten rail to newel post. |

Step 6
Apply optional Cap Rail. |
